"Honey Birds"

Jacob received a Hummingbird feeder from us for his birthday so I helped him get it all ready and set up the other day. He was so proud of his "Honey Bird" feeder. Expecting the Honey Birds to show up immediately we waited around a bit to watch the migration - sadly, it didn't happen on Jacob's time schedule. The next best thing was to just pull up our little step latter to the kitchen sink (which has up close and personal viewing privileges {by design}) and check back periodically. The inauguration of the feeder went something like this:

Checking to make sure everything looked OK in the feeder. It passed inspection

But I don't think it's hanging just right...

...it needs a little more tapping into the ground.

OK Honey Birds...come on down now and drink. I made it special just for you.

Mooom...can't a boy ever get a break?

Fine then...I'll just cover you up so you can't see me.

Now for the rest of the story...we currently have Honey Birds come visit us on a regular basis. This makes one little boy very happy...and his Momma & Daddy too.

And a side note that has NOTHING to do with this post...I bought spray paint at Wal-Mart today and got carded! Yes, the lady asked for my ID...you must be 18 to buy it and she wanted to make sure I was old enough. Made me a happy customer! I know I look younger than I am (for which I'm very thankful!) but my goodness...18???

sad you have to be carded to buy that product though. i mean it would never cross MY mind to use it for any other purpose than painting.

I like Jacob's shirt! What a great story. I just adore hummingbirds! Have you ever had the feeders that suction to the glass, you can really see them up close that way.

Yeah on getting carded!

Send some honey birds my way. I've only seen one so far this year, but I don't have my honey bird flowers planted yet, either. Cute Jacob photos.
