Lights

This is the second little conversation I've had with Jacob lately that I'm posting here.  I don't want to forget these sweet little insights as to what thoughts are going through my baby boy's head.  These days of innocence are going by far to fast.

A conversation from out of the blue yesterday as we were driving.
Jacob: "Mom, do we have lights inside our bodies?"
Me:  "no"
Jacob:  "Well, how does God see inside us when he lives in our hearts?"
Me:  "ummmm"
Jacob:  "I love you Mom"
Me:  *swoon

Later Jacob informed me "Mom, sometimes I can feel God in me".   I know his 4 year old self doesn't really understand the workings of God (neither does my 34 year old self sometimes!) but I'm glad he's starting to think about God.

a worker we had used to always say that small, innocent children knew God best because they just came from God. only as they get older they start to forget!

This is so heartwarming! He is just a little sweetheart. They all are! Isn't it wonderful how our kids can get us to stop our own wandering thoughts in just a heartbeat, and make us think serious, simple thoughts! God knew we needed kids to keep us childlike.

Often I'm amazed at their insight, and I don't think we give them enough credit. Maybe we tend to "over think" things, their thought process is just so pure & simple.
How sweet!

dear Lit up by Love,

Wow. That little man is THINKIN' some pretty special thoughts there. I am glad you have recorded these meaningful conversations to re-read later on. KitKat asked me one time when she was about 4: "Mommy, is there a Mommy-God AND a Daddy-God"?
