Thanksgiving 08

David and I were "orphans" for Thanksgiving so we went to my Aunt and Uncle's place in rural Central Texas. Mom went to be with her Mother and sisters in Georgia, Daddy had to work, and Brad and his family went to West Texas. I can guarantee that while Mom's digs were a little more "posh" than ours and Brad was surrounded by probably a few hundred more people than we were, we had the best food! And that's what Thanksgiving is all about..right?? ;)

yeah, yeah, yeah, the traditional turkey...but is was from HERE so it was scruptious

My sentiments exactly!!

yeah baby...that's what I'm talking about..the BEST steaks anyone has ever put in their mouth!!

Kevin and Audra made a great roll buttering team

my two babies..."queeze"

Linda and Lena watching as the rest of us play a game of "farkle"

Jacob telling Great Grandma C. all about it...he's not into the game

all the kids piled up by the couch...they all thought Lia was pretty cool

the baby, however, was no match for the new trucks from Aunt Brenda
Wyatt & Jacob have important business to take care of now

movin' on to a post-dinner combine drive

that was fun...see my cheesy grin

Lia appreciates a good story from Audra...that smile of hers makes my heart melt

Looks like you orphans had a good time. BUT..we had one of those turkeys from Tyler too!! By the way, are the Tx cattlemen still keeping tabs of conversations regarding eating meat. You know, like they did with Oprah. That plug you made for good steaks might save you a multi-million dollar lawsuit. hehe

LOL! I'm wondering why when many of us really don't like turkey that well anyway that we insist on cooking it for Thanksgiving??! Some of my kids went to their in-laws & they had prime rib! They drooled all over the place about it ahead of time, & after too. I'd rather eat beef any time too, I just like the smell, looks & the golden crispy skin of it anyway. Maybe I could just put a big picture of one out? and you suppose they make "turkey scented" candles?

Thanks for all the pictures!! We simply cannot wait to meet little smiley Lia and see cousin Jacob again, too. I cannot believe how curly his hair is! Both of them are just adorable! January is just around the corner... :-)

Hey, hey we had good food too. But it didn't happen to include Uncle David's wonderful steaks. However Lora did make a wonderful cheesecake. So there you have it!

Looks like a great thanksgiving feast! :) We normally stray from the usual turkey and get a ham instead. But some good steaks sound pretty good too......:)

Looks like you had a fun time. Love the turkey with his little sign! I don't really like turkey so we fixed a ham. Next year I think it will be steak. Lia's smile is so wonderful, what a sweetheart.

Never had steak for Thanksgiving, but I'd take that over turkey any day. I don't mind turkey, but you sure can't beat grilled steak! Looks like a great holiday!
