Say what???

Background: I tend to say "what a mess" a lot to Jacob. There are always little messes throughout the house no matter how hard I try to keep things straightened up. David and I also talk about "Little Sister" a lot to try to help prepare him for Gertrude.

Conversation last night as Jacob lay on top of our bed with a blanket that originally had been neatly laid on top of him but in all of his wiggling wasn't laying just perfect.

Jacob (exasperated): "what a mess"
Kristen to David (sarcastic): "hummm...wonder who he's heard say that?"
Jacob (serious): "Little Sister"

I thought I was going to split a gut...I mean, she's not even here yet and he's already blaming her! Is this a sign of things to come?

It's really easy to blame the youngest one...especially before they start talking! Even then it works for a while before the youngest figures out how to defend her/himself!!
Happy days are coming :*)

How hilarious...sounds like he has figured out who to blame.:-) I know when she gets here, he will be her *biggest* protector. Kinda scary how kids repeat what we say...makes you think twice about what we do say. Looking forward to being with y'all in a few weeks.

Hi - just blog hopping and thought I should leave a comment. It's great what the little ones come up with when they are repeating what we tell them all the time...out of context! Fun to "catch-up" with you and your family. Looking forward to meeting your new baby girl and learning her name. (I'm partial to a little less ordinary names myself!) Wanda
