Photo Wall

Over the course of the last 3 years I've done a few things to our home to give it a much needed "face lift".  Our house was built in 1979 and in many ways it still looks like 1979.  But we're working on that a little at a time.  Most of the rooms have been painted now.  Amazing how much of a difference that makes.  The project that I'm most proud of, though, is my photo wall in the kitchen eating area.  Sometimes I just sit and look at these photos and take a little trip down memory lane.  This area makes me smile like no other.

1.  July 2007 - J was 15 months old and we had just moved back to TX.  I took him out to a local park one  day for fresh air and a photo shoot.  He started walking for the first time as we were out there.  Talk about being feeling lucky!  He was all dressed up in a cute little outfit, I had my camera in hand, and we were at a great place for taking pictures.  I was so proud of my little boy.
2.  April 2010 - J's "official" 4 year old photo.
3.  July 2010 - summer fun.  J was 4 yrs 3 mo and Lia was one month shy of 2 years.
4.  October 2008 - Lia's first church convention.  J was 2 1/2 yrs, L was 3 weeks.  Texarkana, TX
5.  March 2010 - J 4 yrs, L 18 mo
6.  May 2007 - J 1 yr.  David had just moved to TX but J and I were still in FL trying to sell our house there.  This was taken one Sunday evening when we went for a walk on the beach with my In-Laws.  I wanted to send some pictures to David to make him smile.  I'm not sure if that was the result, though, or if it just made him home-sick.
7.  May 2009 - L 8 mo.  Lia in her "Heelarious" shoes.  Yes, at 8 months I had a pair of zebra striped stilettos for her! ;)  The girl loves shoes.  I'm not sure where she gets that from.  Of course at 8 months she was really more interested in eating them than wearing them.
8.  September 2010 - L's "official" 2 yr photo.
9.  March 2010 - L 18 mo.  I feel myself relaxing when I look at this photo.  I don't see her spunk and personality here, I just see beauty and perfection.
10.  June 2009 - L 9 mo.  A friend of mine came out with me to do Lia's 9 mo shoot.  At the end of our session we just sat down to relax and yack a bit.  Teresa happen to have my camera in her hand at this point and shot this as Lia was relaxing on me.  This is another photo that I physically feel peace washing over me as I look at it.
11.  2009 - J 3 yrs - Taken one day at Teresa's house.  It was a beautiful day out and J was running around in true little boy fashion.  This just makes me happy.

Now you've all had a little stroll down my memory lane too.  Thanks!

What's your favorite spot in your house?

dear Strolling...in the Kitchen,

Great spot for great shots! No wonder you love it.
My favorite spot? Well, it has to be our bedroom, because it is a long~awaited project, that is almost finished now. Draws me several times aday: to admire, dream and relax for just a few minutes.
Your house was built the same year we got married...gotta love 1979, styles and all!

Love,
When it happens that way

I can see why you love that wall. Seems like such a perfect place for pictures of your little ones, but yet I have never thought of the wall in my kitchen for that. But the kitchen is sort of like the heart of the home...where everyone is the most.

Sweet precious pictures Kristen.

Awesome photo wall! I like it because it's so easy to add/change photos. No frames to move around, holes to put in the wall. Gorgeous photos!

My favorite place in the house is the white glider rocker in the living room, feet up on a stool, sunshine pouring in the window behind me and the two to the side, and both kids playing at my feet.
I'm either hand sewing, crocheting or reading. Best place in the world to be!

I so want a photo wall!!

I like spending time in my kitchen ... and then there's my glider rocker in the living room with Jasmarie (portrait) looking down on me. But since the storage rade --- my sewing/craft room has taken some of my attention and given some excitements!

---maybe I'll have to report back to this ?? after we finish getting everything put where it goes!
=)

That is very cool! I meant to come back and comment after I first saw your post, thought I'd think a bit about where my favorite spot is. Right now I don't have a favorite--Partly because there's several rooms that vie for that spot, and the other is that having lived here less than a year I haven't really gotten everything "just so". I'm still in the going thru, moving around, making it fit mode. Wait a minute, does that ever end? Maybe it slows down at least :)

I love your photo wall!! This has inspired me! We have so many bare walls in this house, and I have about 3 million pictures on my computer that I only look at once in a blue moon. Did you print them on canvas??
