Fishin' In The Rain

Yesterday after a thunder/rain storm passed through our area the kids asked if they could take their fishing poles outside to go fishing.  Not having any idea what they had planned I told them yes and went on about my business.  A couple minutes later I stepped outside to see this:
I pretty much melted on the spot.

This was not staged in any way.  It was all their idea.
I have loved watching their relationship bloom as Lia gets older.

Mr. Jacob "fishing" - which looks more like he's swinging a baseball bat to me rather than casting his fishing pole but...what ever!  He's having a great time.

Mizz Lia had some issues with her pole.  She was asking me to "fik" it for her.  She knows exactly how it should be done.  See - she's pointing it out to me.  This girl slays me sometimes.

And now it's time for a little love.

And this...this just makes my heart smile.

It's so good to capture sweet, funny times like this...it keeps you from going TOTALLY berserk when they aren't being quite so cute and funny! The first pix is my fav, taken from behind as they sit and "fish."

I have never met you or your sweet kiddo's but I think they are the cutest things ever! I can tell just from the love and affection they show each other that there is a lot of love in your home, and that is something rare and wonderful!

Those two are the most precious of kiddos! So glad you had your camera handy for this moment...you couldn't have staged that if you had tried. Priceless!!!!

Love this!! Our boys love to fish too! And my favorite part of the kid poles is that they have weights :). That is the extent of my fishing! Love, Kari
