Sidewalk Paint

One day the kids had a blast painting our sidewalk, and outside entry landing, and brick, and trees, and themselves, and, and, and...you get the idea.

Things started innocently enough...painting on the sidewalk its self...(only had one real paint brush so we had to improvise with a toothbrush for Lia)

...but the the sidewalk got a bit boring so they moved on the something a little more fun...painting themselves!

And yes, yes, Jacob dressed himself.  He did a great job getting his shorts on correctly don't you think!
How about that sweet hug he's giving her...or is he strangling her??
She admires his masterpiece - just before she picks up both bowls of paint and runs off with them!

My kids...they make my heart smile even when it feels like it doesn't want to.

love Jacob's shorts (smile).
I've been happy for the way children can 'distract' us from our troubles, no matter how big or small they are.

So glad you have them to bring brightness right now. I loved that sidewalk chalk/backward clothes/hugs on the run stage. I still keep a bucket and a brush on my back patio to entertain little ones who happen to come.

How very cute-- I especially love the one of Jacob painting himself with his tongue out!
Some great heart smiles!

Kristen...I just love that you let your kiddos experiment, no matter how messy things get! There's so much they learn doing this! HOW I wish I'd learned this 20 years ago ;-(
